In our latest installment of the week that was, we take a look at the latest happenings of the Atlanta Falcons.

On Friday, the Falcons announced the signings of four draft picks: Malliciah Goodman, Stansly Maponga, Kemal Ishmael and Zeke Motta. All of these were picks on the defensive side of the ball and came in the fourth round and later.

Also on Friday, Thomas Dimitroff and about 40 other cyclists rode seven miles from Buckhead to the Dome for National Bike to Work Day. Afterwards, an impromptu interview with the AJC broke out, and Dimitroff answered questions ranging from Matt Ryan’s contract to OTA’s. (Spoiler alert: no new contract for Ryan yet.)

Recently the Falcons hosted their “State of the Franchise” address. This is an event at the Georgia Dome that gives season ticket holders a chance to gather and listen to the Falcons brass talk about anything and everything under the sun. President and CEO Rich McKay talked about the new stadium, GM Thomas Dimitroff talked about the roster breakdown, and Mike Smith did his best to coach up the crowd. You can read a summary of the nights events on the Falcons’ website.

And if you play NFL Scout Fantasy and have Mark Olson on your roster, then you will be very happy to know that he was promoted to the position of National Scout this week. He has been with the Falcons organization since 1998 after joining as a Scouting Assistant and was most recently spent the past three years as the Western Scout for the team.

That wraps up a relatively quiet week on the Falcons front. Make sure to check back next week as we catch you up on the latest happenings of the Falcons and all the other metro area sports teams.
