Braves Recall Kameron Loe, Send Down Pastornicky

In puzzling move to say the least, the Braves recalled pitcher Kameron Loe from Gwinnett.  Not really sure what to make of this move.  Loe isn’t a very good pitcher and there are better options at Gwinnett that could have been recalled.  Loe has been around for quite a while and has already pitched in the majors in the 2013 season for 2 separate teams, Seattle and the Cubs.  In his 15 innings with those two teams Loe allowed NINE HOMERUNS and only struck out 7 people.  Let me repeat that.  Loe has given up more homers than he has strikeouts this season.  Loe has started in the past, so I assume that makes him the long relief man.  It doesn’t really matter.  Color me not impressed by this move.

Tyler Pastornicky was sent back down to Gwinnett has the corresponding move.  In my opinion Tyler isn’t really getting a fair shake in Atlanta.  The Pastor can be a good hitter at the MLB level and would be a good guy to have off the bench that can pinch hit and play multiple positions.  We will see Tyler back in a Braves uniform before the season is over.
