Normally, a 12:30 kick-off time against a less than thrilling opponent (Syracuse qualifies) being televised on ESPN3 wouldn’t bring a ton of attention to the Yellow Jackets. However, we discussed Paul Johnson’s job prospects at length during Syracuse Orange” href=”http://atlallday.com/2013/10/18/georgia-tech-week-8-preview-syracuse-orange/”>Friday’s preview of this game, and that alone brings more eye balls to this game.
As usual, we turn to our cohorts in Las Vegas for some guidance on the festivities, and as of this post, the Yellow Jackets are a significant, 7.5-point favorite at home. This seems about right to me, as Georgia Tech is both more talented and more urgent to get a win here, and I’d expect to see the very best of the Jackets in this spot. Vad Lee and Paul Johnson are automatically under the most pressure (as quarterback and head coach always are), but the defense will carry just as much burden if Tech struggles in this spot.
Stay tuned to this thread throughout the morning and afternoon, and feel free to blast off in the comments before, during, and after the game. It’s a huge game for the future of the program, and that alone is worth the price of admission.
