Arizona Fall League & Dominican Winter League Recaps: 11/12

Arizona Fall League
The AFL season is winding down, here are the lines from yesterday’s game:
- Tommy La Stella – 0-4
- Kyle Kubitza – 1-4, 2B, RBI, K, Fielding error(3)
- Shae Simmons – 2 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 2 K
- John Cornely – 1 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 1 K
Tommy La Stella had a rare game yesterday in that he went 0-4. No walks, no hits, no nothing. Odd to see beside Tommy’s name. La Stella was removed from the game for a defensive replacement in the 8th. I’m not sure if it was because the game was 8-2 at that point or something else was going on. I’ll have to check on that one.
Kyle Kubitza continued his good season with an RBI double, but did commit his 3rd error.
Shae Simmons continued his dominance in the AFL by pitching 2 more scoreless innings yesterday. This was his 9th strait scoreless outing covering 9.1 innings. His AFL ERA is now 0.90 and he is holding hitters to a .182 average. I think this kid has a future in the Atlanta bullpen.
John Cornely had his own scoreless streak come to an end yesterday. He had not allowed a run in his last 6 appearances, but allowed a run on two hits and two walks.
The Scorpions only have 3 games left in the season. They play today at 12:35 MST.
Dominican Winter League
There was only one game on the DWL schedule last night and none of the Braves guys saw action. There is a full slate today, so we should have some news to report on tomorrow.
