The non-conference slate has turned ugly for the Georgia Bulldogs, as their 8-point loss to Nebraska drove their record to a dismal 1-4 on the season. However, the Dawgs return home for a Friday match-up with Appalachian State in Stegeman Coliseum, and that should be a bit of an easier task.

This year, the UGA offense has been much better than the defense (at least statistically), and that’s a bit of a shock. It would be very nice to see a dominant defensive effort against a team in App. State that has struggled to score to the tune of just 101 points per 100 possessions in route to a 1-4 record.

Our friends in Las Vegas have made the Bulldogs a 12-point favorite against the far less talented Mountaineers, and anything short of a blow-out win (or something resembling that) would be a disappointment in this spot. Mark Fox still has plenty of time to right the ship before SEC play begins, and this would be a great stepping stone.

Stay tuned for more coverage, including a game recap after the final buzzer.
