Hey! The Georgia basketball team is on a 1-game winning streak! After a rough stretch of games against major conference opponents, the Dawgs got a comfortable, 18-point win over Appalachian State in their last appearance, and they’ll look to build on that momentum when the Chattanooga Mocs arrive in Athens on Monday night.
At 2-4, it’s been a rough season for UGA, and that is illustrated in KenPom’s latest ratings. The Bulldogs sit at 167th in the country overall (yikes), but more troubling is the fact that their defense is outside the top-200 by allowing over 105 points per 100 possessions. For a team that has had a defense-based identity in recent times, that is something that must be corrected, and Chattanooga’s 185th-rated offense should do the trick.
Our pals in Las Vegas have made the Bulldogs a 13-point favorite at home over the 3-5 Mocs, and a double-digit victory is both predicted and expected. A weird scheduling quirk has a 12-day break after this game for the Bulldogs, and it would be very beneficial to the program if they can grab a decisive win going into the time off. Stay tuned.
