The long, winding journey is coming to an end for the 2013 Atlanta Falcons, and the Carolina Panthers sit at the finish line.

Earlier in the week, we brought you a full-length preview of the game, and as usual (at least lately), it doesn’t look extremely favorable for the Falcons. Carolina has been playing lights-out football for weeks, and they sport one of the best defenses in the league and a quarterback that is as dangerous as any single player in the NFL. The biggest headline (from an Atlanta standpoint) is that Sunday marks the final game in the career of Tony Gonzalez, and regardless of what happens in the NFL Draft proceedings, it would be extremely nice to see Tony leave on a winning note.

The “experts” in Las Vegas have installed the Panthers as anywhere from a 5.5-to-7 point favorite in the game, and that pretty much outlines where we are in this one. Carolina has a lot to play for, while the Falcons are playing simply for jobs, pride, and the love of Tony Gonzalez. If both teams bring their “A” game, the Falcons have no chance, but we’ll be looking for points of encouragement throughout the afternoon.

Hit us up in the comments below (used as a game thread!) and stay tuned for post-game analysis, including a full recap shortly after the game.
