Just days after a win against the worst team in the NBA, the Atlanta Hawks (23-20) will be travelling to take on one of the best teams in the league in the Oklahoma City Thunder (35-10). The Thunder stand as a significant challenge for a Hawks team that is still pretty beaten up. DeMarre Carroll came back during the last game against the Bucks, but Atlanta is still going to play without Jeff Teague or Pero Antic.

Carroll will have the unfortunate task of trying to shut down Kevin Durant–who’s been on fire lately. Durant has scored 30 or more points in 10 straight games and is coming off of a triple-double against the 76ers. This could easily be Carroll’s most difficult assignment of the season.

As a team, the Thunder are near the top of the league in almost every major category. They are 4th in points per game (105.3), 2nd in rebounds per game (46.4) and 7th in points allowed per game (97.7). To top all of that off the Thunder are insanely hot right now, winning their past seven games.

In the first meeting between these two teams, the Thunder won, 101-92, and Durant put up 30 points and 10 rebounds. Paul Millsap was actually the Hawks’ top player in that one, and he’s definitely the guy we are going to have to look to again. Unfortunately every team should know that at this point.

Vegas has the Hawks as 10-point underdogs in this one.
