The Atlanta Hawks (24-21) are coming off of an annihilation of the 76ers, and are going up against a .500 Minnesota Timberwolves (23-23) team.

In Friday’s game against Philadelphia, the Hawks were fortunate enough to get starting point guard Jeff Teague back into the lineup. Teague seemed to jump right back into game speed without a problem and dropped 12 points and eight assists. The entire team really played well across the board in that game, with seven players scoring double digits.

Atlanta’s going to need another team effort in this one as the Timberwolves are a much better team than the Sixers are. They’ve won five of their last seven games (against various levels of competition) and are in the top six in the league in three important categories. Minnesota is 6th in assists per game (23.5), 4th in points per game (105.8) and 3rd in rebounds per game (45.8).

Kevin Love is clearly the guy to watch out for on the team. He’s leading all other players with 25.1 points and 13 rebounds per game. This means Paul Millsap will yet again draw a tough defensive match up. These two guys will definitely be the players to watch in this one.

While the T-Wolves are much better than the 76ers, the Hawks do have the advantage of being more rested than Minnesota, who is also coming off a Friday night game–one that was much more trying. While the Hawks didn’t have a single player with more than 27 minutes last night, the Timberwolves had three of their starters well into 30 minutes of game time.

Vegas has the Hawks as a 3.5-point favorite in this one.
