The Atlanta Hawks (25-26) are set to take on the Indiana Pacers (40-12) to start off their schedule following the All-Star Break. The Pacers have been the best team in the Eastern Conference for the entire season, and are considered to be one of the top teams in the entire league. Now is probably the best time to have to play them, with all of the players coming off of a long break.

This will be the third time Atlanta has taken on Paul George, Roy Hibbert and company. Right now the series is tied 1-1, with the Hawks taking the first game by ten points on January 8 and the Pacers winning the second match up on February 4.

The Pacers are the best defensive team in the game at this point in the season, holding opposing teams to just 90.3 points per game. Their rebounding is also extremely good (4th in the NBA) as they bring down 45.6 boards per game. Hibbert leads Indiana in this category with 7.7 rebounds per game in addition to 2.5 blocks per game.

While Hibbert does most of the dirty work, Paul George is clearly the team’s scorer and top player. George is scoring 22.2 points per game on 44 percent shooting.

This is going to be a tough one, but Atlanta’s played extremely well against the Pacers this season.

Vegas has the Hawks as 10-point underdogs in this one, which seems a bit much. True, the Hawks are playing at Indiana, but the Hawks did beat them by 10 points earlier this season. If I were a gambling man, I’d be tempted to take Atlanta in this one.
