The Georgia Bulldogs have won 4 games in a row. I repeat: the Georgia Bulldogs have won 4 games in a row.

There are no medals for 4-game winning streaks in college hoops, but Mark Fox’s club is playing their best basketball of the season as they head to Knoxville for a date with the Vols on Tuesday night. Georgia’s latest conquest came in an 11-point win over Ole Miss on Saturday, but this is a step up in difficulty, as it comes in a hostile environment.

The Vols have lost two straight games, but both were in difficult spots (home against Florida and on the road at Missouri), and this is a talented bunch. Despite their 15-10 record, our pals at KenPom have Tennessee pegged as the 26th-ranked team in America, and their electric offense is the reason for that. Tennessee ranks in the top-20 nationally in offensive efficiency (115.7 points per 100) and the inside-outside combination of Jordan McRae (19.6 points per game) and Jarnell Stokes (14.2 points, 10.2 rebounds) can be lethal.

Las Vegas has installed Georgia as a 10-point underdog in the game (and KenPom projects an 11-point defeat), and while that may be jarring given the recent winning streak, road trips in conference play aren’t a joke. It’s a bit of a slap in the face to see an 8-4 team in conference play as a double-digit underdog to a 6-6 team, but in 40 short minutes, Mark Fox’s team can change that perception.

Stay tuned for updates as they arise.
