After falling late to the Bulls last night, the Atlanta Hawks (26-30) are looking to get back up with a game against the Boston Celtics (19-39) at the TD Garden. Fortunately for Atlanta, the Celtics are a pretty bad team this year.

Boston is on a five game losing streak at the moment and is one of the league’s worst offensive units. They still get more boards than the Hawks (you can name all that don’t on one hand), but I’d be pretty surprised if they were able to take advantage of enough of them to blow out Atlanta.

However, the Hawks have struggled mightily of late, losing nine of their last ten, and the injuries they’ve been dealing with all year seem to be catching up with them. Jeff Teague has turned in a few big games over the past few nights to try and pick up the slack, but Atlanta really needs Paul Millsap to get back in the lineup. Unfortunately, it looks like he’ll be out again tonight as well as Pero Antic. That means Atlanta could go small again, and Mike Scott could see the floor more.

Fortunately, Jeff Green is Boston’s leading scorer and he’ll likely get matched up with Atlanta’s best defender–DeMarre Carroll. Vegas actually has the Hawks as 2-point underdogs in this one which was a surprise to me, but until the Hawks start winning games and/or get healthy I think it’s probably pretty fair.
