The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets enter Sunday night’s road game against Florida State as losers of three consecutive games, and as usual, a road trip in conference play is never the ideal cure for a struggling squad. Florida State is just 16-11 on the season (and 7-8 in ACC play), but the advanced metrics display FSU as a top-50 team nationally, and that poses problems for Brian Gregory’s club.

Scoring is going to be the biggest issue for the Jackets, and that is a familiar refrain. Georgia Tech hasn’t cracked 65 points in any of their three recent defeats, and against the nation’s 41st-ranked defense in the Seminoles, it is a tough match-up.

Our pals in Vegas have the Yellow Jackets as 9.5-point underdog in this game, and while that may seem to be on the high side, it’s certainly not unfounded in numbers. KenPom also has projected a 12-point loss for the Jackets on the road, and with their road struggles combined with Florida State’s style of play on both ends, escaping with an upset would be really impressive in this spot.
