Today in Florida, the offense of the Atlanta Braves didn’t do a whole lot, and the New York Mets beat up on Atahualpa Severino to top the Braves 6-2.

Freddy Garcia got the start in this one and had another great outing, throwing three perfect innings and striking out three. Severino had about as bad a performance as you’ll see during Spring Training. He came in to start the ninth inning with the Braves leading 2-1 and promptly gave up five earned runs while recording just one out.

Offensively, there’s not much to freak out about with the Braves managing just six hits and a single run. Jason Heyward and both of the Upton brothers went 0-3 at the top of the lineup.

Tyler Greene would be the only player to record multiple hits (he was 2-4) today while Evan Gattis, Matt Kennelly, Elmer Reyes and Ryan Doumit each picked up a hit of their own.

Ryan Buchter, Craig Kimbrel, Jordan Walden, Gus Schlosser and Mark Lamm all threw for the Braves in addition to Garcia and Severino. These pitchers combined to throw 5.2 innings and allow just four hits and one run.
