The 2014 NFL season is still nearly five months away, but on Wednesday afternoon, the first inkling of what to expect from a schedule perspective was released with the announcement of the preseason slate.

The Falcons are set to take on the Miami Dolphins and Tennessee Titans at home, with road trips to face the Houston Texans (and their #1 overall pick) and Jacksonville Jaguars. Frankly, this schedule is anything but exciting from a match-up perspective, but at the same time, there is virtually nothing that could take place during the exhibition season that matters in a significant way.

As always, the main focus in preseason should be avoiding injuries, but for the Falcons, there will be many new faces to examine (Paul Soliai, Jon Asamoah, 1st-round pick, etc.), and that makes for appointment viewing. We will bring you updates on dates and times when they become available, but until then, creators of NFL preseason fantasy leagues (lol) will be left to speculate on the exact format of their seasons.
