With just hours to go until the 2014 NFL Draft, there is a ton of speculation to sift through with regard to the Atlanta Falcons, as well as the 31 other teams in the NFL. In that vein, however, one of the most credible members of the media with regard to the Falcons has an interesting belief about what the team is set to do with their first round pick.

ESPN’s Vaughn McClure indicates above that he believes that the Falcons will target an offensive tackle with the sixth overall pick, and that isn’t a shock. In fact, we outlined that as one of the “ideal” scenarios earlier in the day. However, his follow-up was exceedingly more interesting.

McClure is one of very few people in the industry who cover the Atlanta Falcons professionally on a full-time basis, and his belief that they are staying put at number six is certainly relevant. Does it mean that it will definitely happen? Absolutely not, but even amid reports that Thomas Dimitroff could pull off the “houdini” act of acquiring Jadeveon Clowney, we’ll side with McClure.
