Discussion is everywhere surrounding the Atlanta Falcons and a potential attempt to move up to the top overall pick in an effort to snag South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, but now, a relatively new scenario (at least publicly) has popped up. Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that the Falcons could be aiming to move up just two spots to number four in order to draft Buffalo outside linebacker Khalil Mack.

To be frank, this isn’t something that we’ve given a lot of discussion (or thought) to, but it is exceedingly interesting. All indications are that the Falcons are moving to a more “hybrid” defensive front this season that will include some 3-4 principles, and Mack would fit brilliantly in that mold. Atlanta is in desperate need of a pass-rusher, and while Mack isn’t a pure rush end in the same way that Clowney is, his versatility could be extremely intriguing.

There is a long way to go until 8:00 pm (or later), but add this into the numerous scenarios that are currently being discussed.
