Philadelphia Phillies at Atlanta Braves preview: Business person’s special

The Atlanta Braves aren’t exactly blazing on all cylinders at the moment, but the team will have every opportunity to turn that around on Wednesday afternoon, as they welcome the Philadelphia Phillies to Turner Field for the series finale of their three-game set. As referenced in the title, this is a unique one, as the start time is set for 12:10 pm ET, making it the always entertaining business person’s special.

Aaron Harang takes the ball for the Braves, and he has been a highly intriguing figure in recent days, In addition to his stellar start to the season, the veteran right-hander has emerged as a potential trade piece (despite there being no consensus on what the Braves would be targeting), and his 3.20 ERA (3.00 FIP) would certainly be marketable to opposing teams. Atlanta has been stung by early runs in the past two games against Philadelphia, so it would be encouraging to see a strong performance from the outset.

The Phillies will send Roberto Hernandez, formerly Fausto Carmona, to the mound in the finale, and he is nothing to write home about at this stage of his career. The 33-year-old has a 4.26 ERA and 1.49 WHIP across more than 67 innings this season, and despite the recent struggles of Atlanta’s offense, this is a target that they can tee off against if everything goes according to plan.
