Kyle Korver cut from final Team USA roster

Atlanta Hawks shooting guard Kyle Korver made it all the way to the final round of cuts with Team USA, but this morning it was announced that the 6-7 marksman would not be appearing on the final rendition of the team.

Three other players received the bad news as well: Gordon Hayward, Damian Lillard and Chandler Parsons.

Via Chris Vivlamore, of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, here is what the final roster will look like when the team heads to Spain:

"The final roster that will compete in Spain consists of: DeMarcus Cousins, Stephen Curry, Anthony Davis, DeMar DeRozan, Andre Drummond, Kenneth Faried, Rudy Gay, James Harden, Kyrie Irving, Mason Plumlee, Derrick Rose and Klay Thompson. Team USA opens pool play against Finland on Aug. 30 in an attempt to secure an automatic bid into the 2016 Olympics."

Obviously, it’s a bit disappointing to see Korver miss out on making the team, but the names above are no joke and it’s certainly not a terrible move from the coaches in charge of the US team. They’ve got tons of athletes and plenty of guys who can shoot the ball as well.

Now, the Hawks can turn their attention towards the approach of the regular season which will start to get interested Oct. 1, when Atlanta begins training camp.
