Justin Scott-Wesley, Malcolm Mitchell ruled out for South Carolina

The Georgia Bulldogs are banged up at the wide receiver position, and that is nothing new. However, head coach Mark Richt announced on Friday morning that both wide receivers Justin Scott-Wesley and Malcolm Mitchell will not travel to Columbia for the game against South Carolina, leaving the cupboard somewhat bare.

As noted by Marc Weiszer, virtually no one expected either player to appear in the game, but with injury questions surrounding Jonathan Rumph as well, a lot will be focused on the duo of Chris Conley and Michael Bennett. Fortunately, the Bulldogs had little need for wide receivers in running all over the Clemson Tigers in the opener, but with the well-chronicled injury histories for both Conley and Bennett, things can fly off the rails in a hurry.

Our full preview of the game between Georgia and South Carolina can be viewed here, but it will be interesting to see what the game plan looks like from Mike Bobo here in the wake of the explosion in the running game. Stay tuned for all the latest.
