Atlanta Hawks vs. Utah Jazz Preview: Building a Winning Streak

The Atlanta Hawks have secured back-to-back victories over the New York Knicks, and with those wins, the team sits at 3-3 on the young season. On Wednesday night, the Hawks will host former assistant Quin Snyder and the Utah Jazz at Philips Arena, and with another victory, Atlanta will have their first winning “streak” of the season to go along with a record above the .500 mark.

The Hawks could be at less than full strength in this game, as the team announced on Tuesday that DeMarre Carroll (doubtful), Mike Scott (questionable) and Adreian Payne (probable) are listed on the team’s injury report. Carroll would represent the biggest loss, especially against Utah wing Gordon Hayward on the defensive end, but the potential absence of Mike Scott and his offensive abilities could prove significant.

Despite the fact that we are early in the year, the Atlanta Hawks have not quite hit their stride offensively, and that is evidenced by Al Horford sitting as the fourth-leading scorer on the roster at the moment. Still, the team has managed to stay afloat despite some early hiccups, and that is a positive for things to come. Utah is a young team traveling on the road, and in this spot, the Hawks should be able to preserve a home win.
