Atlanta Hawks vs. Cleveland Cavaliers Preview: Greetings, LeBron

facebooktwitterreddit

After taking down the former team of LeBron James by a final score of 114-103 on Friday night, the Atlanta Hawks are heading up to Cleveland to take on the King on his rightful throne with the Cavaliers.

The Cavs got off to a bit of a slow start in the season, but have won three straight games and are coming off of a 122-121 win over the Celtics on Friday, when James dropped 41 points in a come-from-behind effort.

Obviously, James is the main guy to look out for, but this is a star-studded lineup that can beat you with guys all over the court. In the game against Boston, Kevin Love dropped 12 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for what is just one of many more double-doubles to come, while Kyrie Irving scored 27 points, stole the ball three times and dished out five assists.

Those are the kind of numbers that fans and the media alike started to dream about when James announced his return.

Still, the Cavs are far from a great defensive team, and are allowing 103 points per game–good for 25th in the league. Unlike what Cleveland has struggled with (well maybe not much longer) the Hawks do an excellent job of moving the ball around for a balanced attack. In the win over the Heat last night, each starter got at least 12 points, while three players came off of the bench to score double-digits as well.

This one should certainly be a shoot out, and at the end of the day will probably come down to how dominant LeBron decides to be. Scary thought, right?
