Atlanta Hawks vs. Denver Nuggets preview: Sunday Matinee

facebooktwitterreddit

After a successful road trip that ended with a huge win over the Brooklyn Nets a few days ago, the Atlanta Hawks return to Philips Arena to host the Denver Nuggets in an early 3:30 matchup.

The Nuggets are 9-10 so far this season and 4-6 on the road, coming off of a 119-89 loss to the Washington Wizards. In that game, Wilson Chandler and Ty Lawson were the only two players to manage double figure scoring, while the Nuggets allowed the Wizards to shoot 52.9 percent from the field. Before Washington, the Nuggets dropped a 105-103 game to the Portland Trailblazers.

Meanwhile, the Hawks have been cruising, thanks largely in part to an improved defensive game.

With Atlanta shooting 47.7 percent as a team this season and implementing one of the league’s most dangerous and team-oriented offenses, that extra effort on the opposite end has done wonders and led to a five game winning streak.

The Nuggets have been struggling a bit, but after a brutal loss to the Wizards don’t be surprised to see the team come out of the gates with a vengeance.
