Atlanta Hawks vs. Milwaukee Bucks preview: Post-Christmas Hoops

facebooktwitterreddit

Just days after taking down one of the top teams in the league via a 107-104 victory against the Clippers, the Atlanta Hawks are set to host the Milwaukee Bucks.

While the Bucks are 14-15 so far this year, and coming off of a 108-101 loss to the Charlotte Hornets, they are the No. 10 team in the NBA when it comes to moving the ball around and creating assists. Sure, that doesn’t exactly scare the Hawks–who are No. 1 in that same category–but it is certainly respectable.

Depending on what happens with Toronto tomorrow, the Hawks could take over as the leaders in the Eastern Conference with a win over the Bucks today, so not overestimating Milwaukee will be important.

While the Bucks did lose to the Hornets Tuesday, Brandon Knight dropped 34 points and showed that the team certainly has some offensive threats. At the same time, if Atlanta plays the way they are capable of by moving the ball around on offense and continuing their improved defense, this should be an easy victory.

It will be interesting to see if Jeff Teague is ready to take over as the team’s starting point guard again, after logging 24 minutes in the victory against the Clippers. Either way, point guard shouldn’t be an issue for Mike Budenholzer, as Dennis Schroder has done an admirable job filling in as Teague recovers from his hamstring injury.
