Kyle Korver shines in All-Star Game for Atlanta Hawks

Mike Budenholzer played all four Atlanta Hawks with LeBron James in the 2015 NBA All Star game, which was pretty cool to see, but the West would take the 163-158 victory in the highest scoring All-Star game in history.

Kyle Korver was the star out of Atlanta’s group of players, scoring 21 points on 7-0f-12 shooting from beyond the arc. He played in 15 minutes along with Paul Millsap, who scored just five points but tallied six rebounds.

The last two players repping Atlanta, Jeff Teague and Al Horford, played in 13 minutes off of the bench for the East. Teague scored 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting in addition to a perfect 2-for-2 from beyond the arc. Horford had the highest +/- of the group at +11 while scoring eight points and grabbing seven rebounds.

Still, Korver’s performance from deep was the biggest of the group, especially given the way the rest of the East roster was shooting from 3. Carmelo Anthony had a dreadful day from behind that line, making just two of his 13 3-point attempts, while Kyle Lowry similarly made just two of his 11 3-point shots.

For a game that largely means nothing in the grand scheme of things, it was just nice to see four Atlanta players on the court at the same time with all of the All-Stars in the league, and having the best player in the world round out that rotation puts the icing on the cake.
