The Atlanta Falcons are looking to bounce back after a rough last two seasons under former Head Coach Mike Smith.  After being a perennial playoff contender during Smitty’s first five seasons with the Atlanta Falcons, the Dirty Birds averaged just five wins the last two years.

Owner Arthur Blank decided to go in a different direction after Smith’s 6-10 2014 Season with the Atlanta Falcons.  Blank retained General Manager Thomas Dimitroff and paired him with first-time NFL Head Coach Dan Quinn, former Defensive Coordinator of the NFC Champion Seattle Seahawks.

Coach Quinn brings his patented 4-3 Base Defense that helped get the Seahawks to back-to-back Super Bowls.  While Atlanta’s defense should drastically improve in Year One under Dan Quinn, it is still the passing game of the Atlanta Falcons that will ultimately decide if this team is capable of getting back into the playoffs in 2015.

So for Atlanta to get back into the playoff mix, the team is not only going to have to have role players elevate their performance in 2015, but the Falcons’ best players need to also play at a very high level this season.  Here are the five most important players on the Atlanta Falcons roster heading into 2015.
