The Atlanta Falcons have had a tumultuous existence as an NFL franchise, only making the playoffs 12 times in going on 50 years.  But when Atlanta has been at its best as a football team, the Falcons have typically had strong offenses.  Outside of Jerry Glanville’s 1977 Grits Blitz defense, most of the Atlanta Falcons playoff teams have made it their due in large part to their great running backs and solid quarterback play.
