More from ATL All Day

The 2015-2016 rendition of the Minnesota Timberwolves present a greater challenge to the Atlanta Hawks than in years past. The team possesses one of the better defenses in the league, giving up only 96.8 points per game to their opponents this season. Andrew Wiggins is also coming into his own, displaying the talent that made him a number 1 overall draft pick a year ago.

The Timberwolves are also averaging 98.8 points per game, which is good for 21st in the league. With an Atlanta Hawks defense that currently ranks 10th in the league, allowing 98.3 points per game. The matchup between Kent Bazemore and Andrew Wiggins is intriguing, as is the front-court matchup between Al Horford and Karl-Anthony Towns. Jeff Teague will match up against Ricky Rubio, one of the best passing point guards in the game.

The Atlanta Hawks should not overlook the Minnesota Timberwolves, as they have shown improvement thus far this season under Head Coach Sam Mitchell. With a big win against the Bulls on Saturday, the Wolves showed that they are a dangerous team despite their youth. With the way the Hawks have played as of late, they stand an excellent chance though of extending their winning streak to 8 games against a young and unproven Minnesota team. The game will tip-off at 8:00 PM.
