The Georgia Bulldogs move to 9-3 on the year after beating the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on the road, 13-7, in Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate.

The Georgia Bulldogs have won their 8th consecutive game at Bobby Dodd Stadium, as UGA defeated their in-state rival Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, 13-7. UGA moves to 9-3 on the year and eagerly awaits their opportunity for another 10 win season. Georgia Tech ends 2015 with a massively disappointing 3-9 (1-7) record.

The Georgia Bulldogs were able to win this low-scoring affair with a balanced offensive attack and forcing Georgia Tech to turn the football over three times while on defense. Sophomore RB Sony Michel broke over 1,000 rushing yards this season with his 149-yard performance over Georgia Tech. Michel had the lone touchdown in the game, a 34-yard scamper early in the first quarter. Sony finished the game with 187 all-purpose yards.

Greyson Lambert had one of his better passing performances of the season. While he didn’t throw a touchdown, he again didn’t turn the football over, completing 18 of 25 passes for 225 yards. I liked his pocket presence today. He rarely looked uncomfortable and only made a few bad throws in this rivalry game. Perhaps playing at ACC Coastal rival Virginia helped Lambert have a better understanding of how to attack the Georgia Tech defense.

More from UGA Football

Defensively, the Georgia Bulldogs picked off Georgia Tech quarterback Justin Thomas twice. Sophomore SS Dominick Sanders had a wonderfully time interception at the goal line early in the game while Tech had all the momentum on their offensive drive.

Sophomore DB Malkom Parrish picked off Thomas to seal the game inside of ten seconds remaining. UGA also forced a fumble on one of Thomas’ six completed passes. Lorenzo Carter was able to strip WR Ricky Jeune midfield on a 15-yard reception.

UGA’s other 6 points came on two Marshall Morgan field goals. Morgan was 2 of 3 this afternoon, connecting on a 19-yarder and a 37-yarder, but missing one that was 40+. Though Morgan wasn’t perfect, his ability to put ball through the uprights lifted the Georgia Bulldogs to a 6-point road victory over Georgia Tech.

Georgia Bulldogs HC Mark Richt is now 13-2 in his 15 career games against the Ramblin’ Wreck of Georgia Tech, including a perfect 8-0 at Bobby Dodd Stadium. Georgia Tech hasn’t beaten their arch rival at home since 1999.
