The Atlanta Falcons are coming off an 8-8 2015 NFL season. With NFC Playoffs as a real possibility, here are five players with something to prove in 2016.

While the Atlanta Falcons improved under first year head coach Dan Quinn in 2015, an 8-8 record wasn’t good enough to make the NFC Playoffs, missing out on the final NFC Wild Card spot by two games.

Atlanta saw improvement in key areas like on its offensive line, its ability to come up with big stops on thirds downs defensively, and its overall balanced offensive attack. However, rushing the passer, turning the football over, and coming up short in the red zone held the team back in 2015.

The Atlanta Falcons will definitely learn from their mistakes last season in hopes of getting back into the NFC Playoffs for the first time in four years. While the front office will absolutely look to better its roster through the 2016 NFL Draft and through free agency, perhaps a few players already on the roster are more than capable of stepping up to have a better season in 2016.

Here are five players on the Atlanta Falcons that should look to improve on what was either a so-so to mediocre season for the Dirty Birds in 2015. These five have something to prove in the 2016 NFL season.
