The Atlanta Falcons are continuing to wait to hear from Chris Chester as to whether he is willing to come back before addressing the hole on their offensive line.

Chris Chester was a big part of the an offensive line that helped the Falcons run and pass their way into the Super Bowl as the best offense in the league. Dan Quinn has made it known that they hope Chester will return but are unsure what decision that the offensive lineman will make on his future.

If Chester were to decide to return it would likely be for a one-year deal that would have to be inexpensive considering the limited cap space that the Falcons have left. There is also the question of how many snaps does Chester have left in him?

While he may only be thirty-four Chester has shown some signs of age in recent seasons and would need to prove he has kept himself in shape. Chester’s performance last season was encouraging and would prevent a new lineman from having to learn a complicated offensive scheme.

Chris Chester is expected to let Coach Quinn know soon his decision on whether or not he will be willing to return to the Falcons. Jacob Tamme remains on the open market as well though there are few rumors surrounding the tight-end it wouldn’t be surprising to see a reunion with the Falcons.

Jacob Tamme has been unable to remain healthy but is also the best remaining option on the open market. The tight-end position is yet another weapon that the Falcons need to put to use to help boost an offense that led the league in scoring.

Adding Jacob Tamme wouldn’t be the smartest move for the Falcons but with the current market might be the best remaining option.
