The Atlanta Falcons had the best offensive attack in the NFL and came up just short of their first title in franchise history. With the offense looking much the same the Falcons will look to focus on the defense in the draft.

A few weeks after adding Dontari Poe the Atlanta Falcons are set for the draft and will likely be looking to add a defensive pass rusher and linebacker in the first few rounds of the draft. Adding a defensive pass rusher to go along with Poe and Beasley is a great idea that could help spring the Falcons defense towards the top of the league.

Beasley was the leading sack artist in the NFL last season but seemed to run out of gas and help toward the end of the season when he was one of the only pass rushing threats. Double guarding him became a regularity and the Falcons are addressing that by looking to add the Robin to Beasley’s Batman in the draft.

The Falcons have been rumored to be talking about trading up in the draft to add a better pass rusher. Seattle could be one such trade partner with the price likely to be a 4th round pick. If the Falcons pull the trigger on a deal to trade up they are going to have to be very sure that they draft a can’t miss prospect.

Taco Charlton is one name that has been tied to the Falcons. The pass rusher is rough around the edges but has the explosiveness that would make him good to pair with Beasley and provide the pass rush the Falcons are looking for.

There is still the chance as well that the Falcons will look to find Chris Chester’s replacement in the first round of the draft. There are several good offensive lineman who the Falcons could target if their defensive targets are not their by the 31st pick of the draft.
