The Atlanta Braves took a huge hit when they lost their best player in Freddie Freeman. They have responded by putting together their best hot streak of the season and continue to find ways to win games.

Being an Atlanta Braves fan has not been easy for the past two years but things are starting to look better for a team that has shown a lot of fight early on in the season. After falling nearly ten games under .500 the Braves are now sitting at just three games under after another comeback win last night against the Pirates.

The marathon of a game was a great example of how this Braves team has been playing. After sitting through a rain delay for three hours and down a run the Braves came back out and took the lead into the 9th. Well into the hours of the morning Jim Johnson coughed the game up and gave the Pirates a lead again.

Responding with a game tying hit in the 9th the Braves set the stage for Matt Adams to hit a walk off that ended the game with a win for the Braves. The game is an example of the fight of the roster the Braves have put together. All season long they have continued to grind out at-bats and comeback in games to win.

The Braves have put together a roster that is more than capable of sustaining the loss of Freddie Freeman. If they are going to continue to play around .500 they are going to have to continue to score with regularity and the rotation is going to have to take a step forward. Bartolo Colon and Julio Teheran in particular are both due for improvements.

Adding Matt Adams for the price they did may prove to be a steal as well for the Braves considering how big of an improvement he was on Jace Peterson or any other options that the Braves have. The loss of Freeman hurts and he will not be easily replaced, but this team is resilient and will continue to fight for wins even without Freddie Freeman.
