The Atlanta Falcons have been the focus of many jokes since their complete collapse in the Super Bowl. Patriots tight-end Rob Gronkowski became the latest player to poke fun at the team.

Referencing the Atlanta Falcon’s Super Bowl loss has gotten old for both the Falcons and their fans. While in some ways it is completely deserved it is also enough already the Patriots defeated the Falcons in instant death fashion in overtime after the Falcons surprised their critics all season. Lets be fair how many analysts had the Falcons making the Super Bowl?

The Falcons surprised everyone by simply making the playoffs than making it all the way to the Super Bowl giving the Patriots all they could handle for four quarters. That is to take nothing away from the Patriots impressive comeback or the Falcon’s failure to run the ball only to point out that the Falcons exceeded expectations and that it is time to let the Super Bowl collapse go.

Gronkowski on the other hand enjoyed poking fun at the Falcons at a roast of David Ortiz he had this to say addressing actor Anthony Mackie who was also in attendance.  “Hey, Anthony Mackie is here everybody Anthony played Falcon in Captain America: Civil War. Anthony, you were terrible dog. It was the worst I’ve seen a Falcon look since the second half of the Super Bowl.”

While the dig is nothing new compared to what Falcon’s players have heard over the last few months it is yet another quote to put in the bulletin board when the Falcons take on the Patriots in the regular season.

The Patriots have gotten even stronger in the off-season and will be looking to repeat. With very little resistance in the AFC another Patriots Falcons Super Bowl match-up could be in store in the 2017 season.
