Nerlens Noel is a great young player who exceeds and defense. Noel played for the Dallas Mavericks this past season but is currently a free agent.

Currently, at 23 Nerlens Noel is one of the top free agents on the market and is expecting offers from many teams. As the Atlanta Hawks look to build their team, adding Noel would be a great addition and a smart move for them to make.

He would provide great talent to the team and he has also been led by NBA legend Dirk Nowitzki. After the loss of Dwight Howard, the Hawks need one player who can potentially be a star and will help out now as well. Noel can fit this role perfectly as he can also help John Collins progress as a player.

Although his main position is center, Noel can also play power forward which would help the Hawks have a bigger lineup at times. If the Hawks played some games with a bigger lineup it would be easy to take advantage of teams with smaller players.

Right now, Dallas and Noel are not close to a deal which means Atlanta still has a chance to sign the young big man. No other teams have expressed strong interest in him but some have begun to develop an interest in him.

The Mavericks do have the ability to match any offer Noel accepts to bring him back to Dallas. Therefore, Atlanta would have to make an offer that Dallas does not want to match but an offer that Noel wants to sign.

The Hawks currently have three other centers who are Miles Plumlee, Diamond Stone, and recently signed Dewayne Dedmon. If Noel did sign with the Hawks there is no doubt that he would be the starting center.

This move to Atlanta would be key for Noel’s future basketball career. He would have many great leaders around him including coach Mike Budenholzer and Kris Humphries and many others.
