According to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, Atlanta Falcon’s wide receiver Roddy White will be taking extreme measures to lure fellow Falcon Tony Gonzalez away from the land of the retired.

"“Roddy White today revealed that they plan the Brett Favre strategy with the Vikings, which is, go to California where Tony lives, recruit him, get him on a plane, and drag him back to Atlanta eventually.” – Chris Mortensen report on NFL 32 via twitter."

While the site of seeing Roddy White dragging the 6’5″, 247 pound Gonzalez across country would entertain me to no end (I’m thinking around the same as Swamp People), it would also make me happier than a tornado in a trailer park as a Falcons fan.

Gonzalez, who joined the Falcons in 2009, was the meat in the Roddy White – Julio Jones sandwich, and made it virtually impossible for opponents to scheme against the Falcon’s passing attack. So, it comes as no surprise that Roddy White and the Falcons will stop at nothing to get him to return next season.

Since 2009, the Falcons have thrown for over 3700 yards every season. And since adding the third piece of the trifecta, Julio Jones in 2011, the Falcons have thrown for 4300+ yards, and 4700+ yards in the past two seasons.

The question is not whether he can still play, it is does he want to. The realist in me says no, but the Falcons fan is rooting harder for Roddy White now than I ever have, and that’s saying something.
