In a last-second move, the Atlanta Hawks pulled the trigger on a trade to move up ever so slightly in the NBA draft.
As first reported by Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Hawks traded the #18 and #44 picks in the draft to the Dallas Mavericks for the rights to pick #16 and Jared Cunningham. With the resulting selection, the Hawks selected Brazilian big man Lucas Nogueira.
While there will be a full post to come, Nogueira is a 7-footer with insane athleticism who is considered to be a bit of a project. He is only 20 years old, and has the resulting ultra-raw offensive game, but it remains to be seen whether he will in arrive in Atlanta or be stashed for a year abroad.
Stay tuned.
