Brandon Beachy Placed On The 15 Day DL; Cunningham Recalled

Welp, its back to the DL again for Brandon Beachy. Today, the Braves placed Beachy on the 15-Day DL while they await news from Dr. James Andrews about Brandon’s MRI. Beachy had said earlier that is was a different kind of pain that he felt and thinks he will be back to pitch again this season. There is a real chance that Beachy was just feeling pain from the scar tissue from his earlier surgery. However, the Braves might have different plans and might shut him down for the season whether Dr. Andrews says he needs it or not.

Outfielder Todd Cunningham has been brought back up from AAA Gwinnett to take Beachy’s place for now. In Todd’s short call up earlier this season, he played pretty well, getting 2 hits in his 6 at bats and scoring twice. He played a good defensive outfield too, and could be a reliable option if called on down the stretch.
