According to a press release from the Atlanta Hawks, the team has an official television home for the 2013-2014 season.

Here are the details, directly from the team itself:

"SportSouth today announced the network will televise 75 Atlanta Hawks games throughout the 2013-14 season. Former Atlanta Hawks star and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Dominique Wilkins returns for his sixth season as the Hawks game analyst with play-by-play announcer Bob Rathbun, entering his 18th season as the voice of the Hawks. Veteran NBA reporter Andre Aldridge will once again provide analysis and insights from the sidelines.Surrounding every game telecast, SportSouth will televise a 30-minute Hawks LIVE pregame show, along with Hawks LIVE postgame coverage, featuring interviews with players and coaches, game highlights from around the NBA, and a look at the next opponent on the Hawks’ schedule. Jerome Jurenovich will host Hawks LIVE alongside analyst Mike “Stinger” Glenn with reports from Aldridge. The Hawks will tip off the 2013-14 campaign on Wednesday, Oct. 30th, at Dallas, with full coverage beginning with Hawks LIVE at 8:00 p.m. ET on SportSouth. The team returns to Atlanta for the home opener on Friday, Nov. 1st, against Toronto at Philips Arena (7:00 p.m. ET on SportSouth)."

To summarize, this looks like a giant return to the status quo. Rathbun and Wilkins have been a staple on Hawks broadcasts in recent years, and the full-on pregame/postgame show is usually solid under the capable hand of Jerome Jurenovich.

At this time, it appears that the biggest takeaway is that there a couple of games scheduled to have no TV coverage. This isn’t a complete shock, as it has happened before, but for those games, plan on tuning in to the new radio home of the Hawks (and the legendary Steve Holman) on 92.9 FM.

We are only a few weeks away from Hawks basketball, and this is yet another reminder. It’s coming!
