Before we get going, be sure to check out our quick recap of the preseason debut for your Atlanta Hawks, as they fell at the hands of the defending champion Heat on Monday night.
With that out of the way, we should see a fairly similar gameplan for the Hawks as they travel to Asheville (yes, Asheville) to take on the Bobcats. I would fully expect the starters to see 20-25 minutes of floor action, with the “main” bench options playing a similar amount of time. One quick note from Mike Budenholzer (via Chris Vivlamore) emerged after Tuesday’s shootaround:
This isn’t a shock at all, as you would have to imagine that Coach Bud and company want to get a look at the fringe guys who didn’t see the floor (Damien Wilkins and Royal Ivey, especially) while presumably getting Elton Brand on the court for his first live game action. Also, in the midst of the walking disaster that has been the last 24 hours in Atlanta sports, it may be time to start praying for the health of guys like Al Horford, Paul Millsap, and company.
Check back with us throughout the night for any updates, but it’s simply time to enjoy the fact that the Hawks are on their way back!
