Arizona Fall League Recap: Game 4

facebooktwitterreddit

Baseball took the weekend off out there in Arizona, but here is a recap from Friday’s game action.

There was nothing much to write home about in the 3rd loss in 4 games for the Scorpions. Only a few of the Braves prospects played on Friday, and none of them made a positive impact.  Here is the quick breakdown:

  • Kyle Kubitza – 0-4, 3 Ks
  • Elmer Reyes – 0-2, BB, GIDP
  • Juan Jaime – 0.2 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 1 HR, 1 K

Those are some pretty ugly lines there from these possible future Braves. Kubitza started at third base and hit fifth.  He is now 3-11 in the AFL so far, with all 3 of his hits coming in the first game. Elmer Reyes started at SS and batted 8th.  Elmer is now 0-6 on the “season” with a walk. Other than Tommy LaStella, the Braves hitters have all had a less-than-stellar fall league so far.

Juan Jaime had another rough outing.  He allowed a homer to the fist man he faced leading off the second inning.  He then walked the bases loaded while still not recording an out.  Jaime ended up minimizing the damage by striking the next man out, then inducing a grounder and getting the force out at home before being removed from the game.

The Scorpions and the rest of the AFL get back to action today.  Check back tomorrow for another recap.
