Finally, a good day out in the desert for the Braves prospects out in the Arizona Fall League. Â The Scorpions dropped another game and made SIX errors, none from Braves guys, though, in the 7-6 loss. Â Here is how the box score broke down:
- Tommy LaStella – 1-3, R, 2 RBI, BB
- Robby Hefflinger – 2-4, R, 2B, RBI, K
- John Cornely – 1.1 IP, 0 ER, H, BB, K
Of course, Tommy LaStella continued his great bat work out there. Â Tommy again manned second base and hit in the 3 spot in the lineup. Â He walked, had a RBI single and a RBI groundout to go along with a flyout. Â LaStella is now 4-10 with 4 walks and 5 RBI, and has yet to strikeout. Â Robby Hefflinger finally made a mark in the hit column yesterday going 2-4 including a RBI double. Â Hefflinger, who started in left field and hit cleanup, got his first hits of the AFL season and is now 2-12 with 7 Ks. Â John Cornely had a rare good day for a Braves pitcher in the desert by going 1.1 scoreless innings allowing a hit, walking one and striking out one.
Overall, it was a bad day for the Scorpions, but a good day for the Braves prospects. Â The Scorpions will get back at it today and we will have the recap of the game right here tomorrow morning. Â Come back and check it out.
