Before we begin, be sure to check out our full-length preview from Friday afternoon, and you’ll get all the information (on both sides of the ball) that you would ever need.
We’re at the point in the season (with the Falcons at 1-4) where every single game is crucial, and this is no different. Last Monday’s game with the Jets was a virtual must-win (and we know how that went), but this reaches a whole new level, as I can’t envision a scenario where the team challenges for a playoff spot with a loss this week.
Our pals in Las Vegas have installed the Falcons as approximately a 7-point favorite in the home building, and if you need to know anything more about the Bucs, that should illustrate just how far they’ve fallen. I’m not positive that the Falcons will “cover” that kind of number without Julio Jones and (presumably) the Roddy White-Steven Jackson combination, but it is this blogger’s opinion that the Falcons are in good shape here.
