Arizona Fall League

The Braves prospects continue to hit well out in the desert.  Here are the stat lines from yesterday’s win:

  • Robby Hefflinger – 1-5, run, K
  • Kyle Kubitza – 2-3, run, 3B, BB, K
  • Elmer Reyes – 0-2, run, 2 BB, K

Only hitters played in yesterday’s game for the Scorpions. Robby Hefflinger singled and scored in the 6th, and is now hitting .290/.343/.452/.794 for the AFL season. However, his biggest area of concern is his 12 Ks in only 31 at-bats. Kyle Kubitza had another good game, going 2-3 with a triple and a walk.  Kyle has hit well out in Arizona, putting up a slash line of .320/.433/.440/.873.  He has shown a good eye, totaling 5 walks in his 8 games.

Elmer Reyes didn’t get a hit yesterday, but did walk twice and scored a run.  Reyes, a right handed batter, has put up some odd splits so far in Arizona.  He has gone 4-6 against righties but only 1-12 against lefties.  Reyes did hit for a better average in 2013 against right handers, but it wasn’t nearly this drastic. Of course, this is also quite a small sample size, but it’s still interesting.

The Scorpions are back in action today at 12:30 MST.  We will have a full recap of the Braves prospects tomorrow.
