Dave Wallace Named Orioles Pitching Coach
By Eric Graff
Most of you might not even know who this guy is, but the Braves lost a good staff member today to another team. Braves minor league pitching coordinator Dave Wallace was announced as the Orioles new pitching coach today. It’s great to see Dave get this promotion, but it would really hurt if Roger McDowell ever decides to move on, as Wallace was considered the next in line for the Braves. There have been rumors about McDowell being courted by a few teams, but hopefully he will stay in Atlanta. In my opinion, Roger is a very underrated pitching coach and doesn’t get nearly the credit he deserves. Wallace actually filled in as the pitching coach for a while back in 2011 when McDowell was suspended.
Wallace has been around the game a long time and is well respected by his peers. He is considered to have a very good way with pitchers.
Wallace has been a pitching coach in the majors before with the Dodgers, Mets, Red Sox and Astros.
Good luck, Dave!
