It’s time for another divisional battle in the almighty NFC South, and we broke this game down in full during Friday morning’s preview.
I pledged to never speak of the playoffs again if the Falcons were to lose in this spot (lol), and I mean that. However, there is the faintest of hope that the team could resurrect itself with a momentum-grabbing victory on the road, and that is enough to tune in here. If nothing else, it could be time to play spoiler against a divisional opponent, and that’s always pleasurable.
The bookmakers in Las Vegas have made the Panthers somewhere between a 7.5 and 9-point favorite in the game, and that’s another indication of the “mighty” falling in a big way. Even if home field only means 3 points (as is standard in the world of wagering) that is placing the Panthers as a team that is nearly a touchdown better than Atlanta, and that’s tough to swallow. Either way, it’s going to be an interesting afternoon.
