Hello, Tech fans! The men’s basketball team debuted on Friday night with a decisive victory over Presbyterian, and they continue their slate on Monday night with a home game against Delaware State. I won’t claim that this is anything near an “exciting” match-up, but it’s yet another chance for everyone to get familiar with the 2013-2014 edition of the Yellow Jackets.
No Jackets player saw more than 25 minutes of playing time on Friday night, and I’d expect a similar result here. Look for Marcus Georges-Hunt and Trae Golden to further establish themselves as the “primary” options for the club, but this will likely be an across-the-board effort in a blowout win.
As far as the opponent is concerned, Las Vegas has (once again) failed to issue a line for the game, giving credence to everyone who is doubting the validity of the opponent. Last season, DSU finished 15-18 overall (8-8 in the MEAC), and the talent level certainly doesn’t resemble what Brian Gregory and company will be putting on the floor in this match-up, no matter what their 1-0 record (and 49-point victory over something called “Cairn University”) might indicate.
Stay tuned for more information, and an upcoming recap when the game is completed.
