Greetings! The excitement level on every snap of Falcons football has certainly subsided (to say the least) due to the team’s record, but that doesn’t make the diehards go away, and we’ve got you covered for Falcons/Packers. On Saturday, we gave you a full preview of the action, but in a nutshell, this is a very winnable game for Atlanta, whether you want them to win or not.
Aaron Rodgers’ absence is, by far, the biggest national storyline here, but for me, it’ll be very interesting to see if the Falcons can repeat their very solid effort in Toronto last week, especially on offense. Matt Ryan, Roddy White, and company are still going to be the core of this team next year on offense, and it would be unquestionably good if they got things working a bit.
The “experts” in Las Vegas have opened this game with the Packers as a 3.5-point favorite, and that may be even be a bit high for me. Green Bay is a totally different team without the services of Rodgers, and to be honest, I think the Falcons (with everyone back and healthy) should be at worst a “pick’em” in this one. At any rate, it should be hard-fought and competitive, and that usually means entertainment value.
