When the match-ups were released for the 2013-2014 bowl season in college football, there were certainly some pairings that brought more intrigue than others. Georgia Tech was given a pretty interesting face-off, though, as the Jackets are set to travel to the Music City Bowl in Nashville to take on the Ole Miss Rebels on December 30th.
We will certainly be bringing you an extended preview well before the kick-off at 3:15 pm ET that day, but for now, the early returns are beginning to come in as far as who the “experts” believe is going to win the game.
Ole Miss has opened as a 3-point favorite across the board against the Yellow Jackets, and with no home-field advantage in place, this a pure “better team” choice by Las Vegas. Both teams have an identical 7-5 record on the season, but seems to me that the Rebels are getting the SEC “bump” in the battle for public perception.
Without giving away the farm as far as my early leanings, this seems to be a bit too much respect for Ole Miss, especially when considering that they must stop a rare offense that they have little-to-no experience against. Alas, we’ll have 3 weeks to discuss this one, but for now, Ole Miss is the favorite.
