Aloha! It’s Monday Night Football, and it’s always fun when the Falcons are involved. Unfortunately, the last time that Atlanta was played on a Monday night, the game ended in disaster against the Jets, but hey, it’s a national TV game!
On Saturday, we brought you a full-length preview of the game, and it wasn’t exactly pretty. San Francisco has the distinct edge on both sides of the ball, and it will basically take a Herculean effort from Matt Ryan and the Atlanta offense to keep this game close. If there was one bright side, it is that the Niners are capable of playing a “close to the vest” offensive game that could allow for a closer score than you’d think, but if they unleash Kaepernick with his healthy trio of pass-catchers, it could be a long day.
It’s always entertaining to turn to our close, personal friends in Las Vegas for some clarity (or in this case, affirmation) on the difference between the two teams, and they’ve installed the Niners as a 14-point favorite that has even climbed as high as 16 points in some places. Certainly, the venue and the “prime time” hype give San Francisco an extra edge, but I doubt they’ll need it, as they are the better team by leaps and bounds.
